Day 4
How wondrous and great are the words that popped into my mind first as I placed my fingers on the keyboard to type this. The result of going full force yesterday is that my muscles are a bit achy toady. Nothing a little 'hair of the dog' can't solve. I just did a slightly lighter set. When I got to the meditation today I was ready to put mind over matter again. My focus during the chanting was to really concentrate on the words. To understand what they mean and to hear that each time I say them. The mantra is "Adays Tisai Adays, Aad Aneel Anaad, Anaahat, Jug Jug Ayko Vays". Adays means I bow, Tisai means again, so Adays Tisai Adays means I bow again and again to the Aad, the primal One, to the Aneel, the One without color, to the Anaad the One without Sound, to the Anaahat, the Unstruck Sound. Jug Jug Ayko Vays means throughout the Ages you are One in the Same.
I had a small discussion earlier today with a dear friend about prayer and meditation. Being a member of the LDS church, prayer has always been a huge part of my life. Prayer is encouraged as a daily and even moment-to-moment tool; An essential tool I would never want to be without. To keep it simple, the days that I don't keep that prayer in my heart are tough days indeed. Knowing the art of meditation only helps this entire process.
As I write this, I pray for inspiration that I may express myself well. If anyone doubts themselves about participating in yoga, or even a daily meditation I urge you to start small. Just start! Your experiences are waiting for you....
