Day 3
Today was all about mind over matter for me. I somehow got a boost of great energy today and decided to ride the wave. Going into my practice I knew I had extra energy that I wanted to work out before I began meditating. So, I opened my book and did the first kriya (set) that my eyes fell upon. You would never guess this -- it was a set to do, and I quote, "...when you want to work very hard." Lots of Abdominal and leg work to get the energy from the lower chakras to the upper ones. Some considerable time was spent doing Breath of Fire. This is all building up to the meditation.
Well, I am happy to report that my plan worked. I exhausted my muscles and my mind during the "pre-yoga" so by the time I got to meditation my mind was ready and willing. I hear the words, I chant the words. When I was able to really get into it, all I could feel was the slight pain in my shoulders. My mind asks, "why must I feel this pain?" My yogic mind immediately hears one of my favorite teachers words,"The pain you feel is the pain of adjustment. Breathe through it." I breathe harder, I chant with certainty. I pronounce the words. Adjustment. I love adjusting my thought pattern. Smile and keep saying that mantra. I wasn't really concerned about looking at my clock until I really just wanted to make sure I had turned it on! 2:48 and counting. Smile and keep saying that mantra.
Sat nam.
XoXo,
